A day to remember now ... and forever

The time is finally here. Torino Olympics 2006 is about to be a reality. Last night the Olympic flame was brought into town and a celebration was held right in front of the town's city hall which is where I was on Tuesday afternoon. I've also met the mayor of the city and might get another chance to speak to him on Feb. 13. Although there are many things that have happened as the flame makes its way to its ultimate destination, the Olympic Stadium for tonight's opening ceremony, I can only hope that the reason for the Games -- to promote friendly competition among our world's many nations -- prevails. There's obviously some who don't want to see it judging by the re-routing a few times of the flame's original path. However, I hope that these Winter Olympics succeed because without the Olympics in our world, it's one less reason to believe in the hope for peace.

Enjoy the Ceremony tonight and watch the Olympics.
Ciao!
